About me
My name is Claire Barrett, and I am an accredited therapeutic counsellor offering a non-judgmental, safe, and confidential space where you can explore your feelings and challenges at your own pace. My goal is to help you work through your difficulties by finding practical, manageable solutions that allow you to move forward in your life.
I specialize in solution-focused therapy, using a range of practical, evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help you overcome issues such as anxiety, depression, and OCD. My approach is collaborative—you are in control of what we focus on, and we will work together to identify clear, actionable steps to address your concerns.
I typically recommend a minimum of 6-8 sessions for issues like anxiety, depression, or OCD, with many clients seeing a gradual reduction in symptoms after just a few sessions. The aim is not only to help you feel better but to empower you with the tools and strategies to manage your emotions and life challenges long-term.
Whether you are seeking short-term support or a more long-term therapeutic relationship, I offer both face-to-face and online sessions for individuals, couples, and small family groups. Every session is confidential, and there’s no obligation to commit to further sessions.
I offer a tranquil, welcoming space on a peaceful farm situated between Aylsham and Cromer, where you can feel comfortable reflecting on your journey.

Group Therapy
Group Therapy provides the opportunity for you to share similar experiences in a safe and healing space and helps to break down barriers and build trust.
Groups support empowerment, knowledge and understanding and help to reduce stigma and isolation.
Through handouts, guided sessions and conversation you will begin to understand that your thoughts, emotions and behaviours are normal human reactions to your experience.
Therapeutic groups are closed after the first week, run for six sessions and are deliberately kept small
This means from the moment the group starts you can get to know each other and together we can create trust and safety, build relationships and feel connected.
Anxiety focused groups allow participants to learn and begin to understand how their anxiety impacts them emotionally, physically and psychologically.
With group agreement we will cover different areas of anxiety and how this may impact our lives, relationships, our sense of belonging and our physical and emotional wellbeing.
Some of the areas covered
- Creating Safety
- Ways of coping,
- Triggers
- Shame and guilt
- Anxiety and the brain/body
- Relationships
- Our inner child
- Assessing the damage
- Moving forward
Anxiety and a sense of loss can come from many life changing events.
It could be the loss of a loved one, the ending of an important relationship. Divorce, house move, the loss of a family pet or the loss of part of yourself.
Group therapy can help you to begin to reconnect with yourself and reach out and connect with other people who are experiencing something similar.
Groups provide members with a sense of safety and support, builds understanding about the process of grief and helps to normalise and validate your feelings and reactions.
Groups are priced at £150 for the course, last for two hours and can be paid for in advance or in two instalments
